Rethinking the Role of AI in Art, Science & Society, my keynote lecture at the Nordic AI Meet 2022 conference in Oslo, Norway on November 15, 2022.
In my hour-long talk I delved into how both artists and scientists implicitly influence each other in making sense of existential challenges on our planet, and how AI researchers can contribute using ethical and responsible practices.
In the 2nd half I highlighted our Civic Agency in AI (CAAI) research project at Aalto University with emerging findings from work with my PhD researcher Kaisla Kajava on the Language of Algorithms, and our latest work on Regulatory AI Sandboxes with PhD researcher Ana Paula Gonzalez Torres.
Our PhD researcher Antti Rannisto also presented a short talk on “Social Processes of Algorithmic Transparency”, following my keynote.
