Ethics and Politics of AI in Society
Digital Business Master Class Lectures, July 6-7, 2020.
The intensive course consists of two sessions on inter-related topics; a third session was added as part of my course on Human-Centred Research and Design in Crisis. Videos and readings from all lectures are posted online.
1. Ethics and Politics of AI in Society: Understanding the role and influence of ethics and politics in AI, recognizing Bias, Fairness, Accountability and Transparency in AI, and examining ethical implications in real-world AI scenarios in society.
2. AI Ethics in Practice: Designing for Ecosystems: Understanding Ethics of Smart Cities and Data-Driven Urbanism in Crises, recognizing Rights and Values of human, AI and non-human stakeholders, and applying Ethics in Practice for Designing Cooperative Urban AI Ecosystems.
3. Decolonizing AI & Rethinking Resistance: A participatory session for a critical discussion and reflection of AI Ethics applying perspectives from Decolonial Theory to AI and rethinking Civic Resistance i.e. how AI can be leveraged for social justice.
