AI policy must be driven by rigorous research to ensure transparency, accountability, and human well-being. The Roadmap for AI Policy Research outlines key research priorities, including:

Thanks to Virginia Dignum, Catherine Regis, and all who co-authored this timely and insightful roadmap of policies, principles, priorities, and concrete actions we can undertake for responsible governance and impactful AI policy research.
As part of a newly formed steering committee for the Global AI Policy Research Network, we plan to build on this roadmap for impactful outcomes with international researchers, policymakers, and stakeholders in civil society. I’m representing our work in the AI in Society program at the Finnish Center for Artificial Intelligence (FCAI) and Aalto University. The roadmap comes out just in time for the Paris AI Action Summit.
